"FIRST HOLY COMMUNION" COLLECTION I'll never forget the Marian Missal I received for my First Holy Communion and how sheer the missal's paper was! Or the gold leafing on the edges of its pages... the hustle and bustle of the nuns, my first official Act of Contrition, Mommy fussing about my First Communion Dress, the pretty white tulle veil with lace border, the ITCHY pretty white tulle veil with lace border... Why, oh why did I curl my bangs? Trying not to think of breakfast before the big event in those days when fasting had to last 3 hours before Communion... and my First Holy Communion Rosary, crystal beads with a Center Medal encasing Holy Water from Lourdes! Blessings and Congratulations to all the girls and boys who will make that momentous march and receive for the first time ever: the Holy Eucharist. Holy, Holy, Holy!

| Left, top: ROSETTE STONES. Center medal is a bouquet of roses in sterling silver. Crucifix pays homage to the Holy Trinity, also sterling. Capped by sterling florettes and teeny fuschia Swarovski bicones, the Paters are vintage Swarovski Givre beads, 10mm, which have not been manufactured in the last 50 years. Aves are lampwork glass with pink roses against a white center. Sweet!
Left, bottom: TULIPS TOO! Prayer, like the uncomplicated Tulip, is perfect when it's heartfelt. Prayer can be a litany, a bouquet of Tulips, or one plea, one bloom. Paters in this 1st Communion rosary are glass tulips in a jonquil-pink hue, 10mm, capped by sterling florettes. Aves are freshwater potato pearls, 6mm, from China. Center medal is the Holy Chalice in sterling silver. Tiny seed pearls loop the .925 silver flex wire through the medal and cross. The Crucifix, also sterling, depicts the most moving tableau in the bible: Mother and Son in His final hour.
